Man's best friend/ canine compass? : Dogs tend to poop facing North or South, extensive study by scientists finds.

Depending on whether magnetic conditions were calm or disrupted, dogs tend to align their bodies with the magnetic poles in order to excrete, a study suggests.

'Researchers from Czech University and the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany observed 70 dogs from 37 different breeds over the course of a two-year period.

'They found that dogs preferred to excrete when their body was aligned along the north-south axis under "calm Earth's magnetic field (MF) conditions." '

(Times of India 'Dogs poop in line with the Earth's magnetic field' by PTI at Jan 3, 2014, 04.56 PM IST)

The scientists' breakthrough may be difficult to replicate without high technology however, as calm Magnetic Field conditions only occur one fifth of the time, and dogs only do the doozey in line with the poles when the magnetic field is calm. That means your dog might not be a replacement for your compass after all.

Bus overturns, gravely injuring 65, in South Africa!

Nongoma, a small town in Zululand, Kwazulu Natal has experienced a terrible happening. A bus was progressing along a dirt road, when it overturned. All of the passengers, 65 in total were seriously injured, the Department of Transport has warned, relay Bloomberg.

'Emergency workers stabilized the injured on the scene before they were transported to the hospital, the department said in a statement on its website. It was unclear how the accident occurred, the department said.'
(Bloomberg 'South African Bus Accident Leaves 65 People Seriously Injured' by Mike Cohen at Jan 3, 2014 1:17 PM GMT+02)

The event closely follows a crash between a minibus taxi and a bakkie/utility truck in which at least 12 people lost their lives, also in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa.

'Durban - Twelve people have been confirmed dead following an accident between a minibus taxi and a bakkie near Margate, the KwaZulu-Natal transport department said on Thursday.'

Man murdered at 00:00 on 1 January 2014

Rob Meek deceased of subsequently fatal gunfire... to his reproductive area, seconds after the clock struck 12, and 2014 commenced.

There are many ways to celebrate the passing of a new year... causing another person to pass away is one of the more unusual methodologies.

A man by the name of Rob Meek, was photographed celebrating the end of 2013, at 00:00 at 1 January 2014. Little did he know the end of 2013 would warrant his end.

Three men with faces obscured by balaclavas approached the Wild Coast Beach House Rob Meek was celebrating in. One shot him, all three disappeared, according to the Cape Times. The newspaper puts it down to a robbery gone wrong... but the version of events presented is suspicious, so far as the events did not fit an ordinary robbery. Were there really three armed men? This seems likely, from the witness' accounting of the terrible event she and the others encountered. Did he die in another manner? Was it a robbery or was it a hit? Rob Meek apparently eeked out his existence as an urban designer, and was a sailor, well known we are told. Yet, the events seem more appropriate to a hit than a robbery.

His family rushed him away to get help, to no avail. The end of 2013 ushered in the end of Rob Meek, with the passing of another year, Rob Meek passed away. I had never heard of him prior his death, but he certainly died in an deeply perplexing manner. The Cape Times give an account:

'“We moved out on to the deck overlooking the sea. The flash went off. We popped some champagne. We all cheered.

'“You can see in the photo my husband had turned around. He’d already seen the three guys,” Meek said.

'She said three men wearing balaclavas approached them. She said they looked as if they were holding pieces of wood, as residents had done earlier while offering to make bonfires. “My husband said: ‘They’ve got guns,’” Meek said.

'Meek, who had seen three guns, did not recall hearing the three men ask for anything.

'She lay flat on the deck.

'“They looked nervous. I heard a shot. I just saw my husband... There was no provocation.” After the shot went off, wounding Rob in the groin area, Meek said, the gunmen ran away. They had not stolen anything.

'She, her family and friends managed to fashion a tourniquet to try to staunch the blood flowing from Rob’s wound, and they carried him up a steep hill from the house to a vehicle.

'“We got him into the back seat. My daughters sat and spoke to him. I was driving.”

'Meek said at a nearby “TB mission hospital”, two doctors tried to save Rob. Her daughters also tried to resuscitate him and “kept pumping him with oxygen”'

As Colorado begins a journey into weed...

Call it what you will: Dagga... Weed.. Marijuana.. Cannabis...

It has increasingly become the in thing in the U.S.A.

With legalisation there and elsewhere, and its popularity, you may be wondering why it is governments ban narcotics. You may think perhaps it is to protect drug addicts. That might be what your resident government says. When we did forensic medicine in law school, a different story was told.

Most crime could be eliminated if narcotics and drugs were not abused. Where drug use increases, so does the crime rate. This is why drugs were initially banned, and the real reason to keep drugs banned. Yes, cannabis also is known to cause schizophrenia among other side effects, but if we are honest... it is the links between intoxicants and unnatural deaths, both of addicts and of those they might commit harm against which causes prohibition of substances.

So... good luck to Colorado... science shows your crime rate is about to sky-rocket just a little bit more.

But it is legal now, you say? So? Alcohol is legal... and as a result many more crimes are committed and many more people die of foolish Dutch courage. Alcohol is a part of life, narcotics don't have to be.

University of Witwatersrand publishes Nelson Mandela Obituary...

Article by Marc Aupiais

The University took to social networking to apologise profusely, for what they called a technical error, blaming Google search for picking up an unpublished piece. It had accidentally pre-empted the death of former convict of Robbin Island maximum security prison, and one time President Nelson Mandela.

'

The University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg extends its sincerest apologies to the family members, friends, fellow South Africans and global citizens for an obituary related to the death of former president Nelson Mandela that was not published or issued by the University.

The University had prepared a statement which was hidden on its systems. However, a technical error made this available via the search function on Google. At no stage did the University issue this statement or publish it on its website.

The University regrets the mishap and will take all the necessary steps to get to the root of the technical error and to ensure that the responsible departments are held accountable for this incident.
'

Here, from ENCA: is their cause for apologising:

'In the message dated 31 July 2013, the university “expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of former president Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, his comrades, to those who knew him well, to our fellow South Africans, to our staff, students and alumni, and to every global citizen that he touched through his thoughts, words, character, actions, presence and being.”
It goes on to say, “He was of us, but not ours as he belonged to citizens around the world. Not only has he transformed our lives, but also those of generations to come. Mandela’s unrivalled standing as a leader has been won by indomitable courage in the service of principle and in his striving for freedom, justice, democracy and equality. For liberty in this country, Mandela has never flinched to sacrifice his own; nor himself.”
It adds, “Madiba, the father of our nation, was Wits University’s most illustrious student and alumnus. He blessed us with his presence over the years as a student, a politician, an activist, as an Honorary graduate, as a President, a guest and as a friend of the University.
"We were blessed to have him in our midst and we – all Witsies, all South Africans, all Africans and indeed all of humanity must continue to uphold the ideals for which he lived, and those for which he was prepared to die.”
The university also mentioned an Honorary Doctorate it bestowed on the elderly former president in 1991 “for his ‘commitment to justice [which] drew him out of his profession and into national leadership,” adding “Mandela’s life has been an inspiration, here and throughout the world, to all who are oppressed and deprived, and to all who care about oppression and deprivation. He will remain an inspiration to Wits University, and for future generations of humanity.”'

Man arrested by police, after threatening death plunge off Eiffel Tower

Article by Marc Aupiais

The Eiffel tower in Paris, France was evacuated at 13h00/1 PM, as a man threatened to commit suicide by jumping from the structure. The Paris emergency services went into their top gear, in an attempt to resolve the nightmare, but ended up having to arrest the unstable polish national.

A police source told Le Huffington Post, that the man, who claimed to be a polish national was successfully apprehended at 15h00 / 3 PM. The jumper was described as 'psychologically unstable' by a spokesman for the Paris fire department, and had planned to climb from the second floor where he had been, to the third floor, demanding cameras record his plunge.

Police, Le Huffington Post, adds, had set up a security perimeter, and a score of fire-fighters, aided by two fire trucks and multiple lighter vehicles, attempted to resolve the cliff hanger of a situation. Ticket sales were temporarily halted. Le Huffington Post reports that prior the arrest: medical personnel from the Paris Fire Department, had attempted to reason with the suicidal man. Finally, police, at 3 PM took decisive action, before the depressive man could do likewise.

Conservative Conservation

Article view by Marc Aupiais

In the wild, how one would survive best: is to use what one needs to use only when it is necessary.

To destroy something you need for something other perhaps in the future: should only be done if it is the only way to achieve a needed end. To take the energy to carry an important thing is necessary, but sometimes it is needed to travel as light as possible, if the testimony of the Bushmen is a true one.

In the environment, we need to move away from activist language and into reality. The fact that almost everything the Green movement has claimed is a lie: from an ice age in Europe, to the end of the Himalayas Ice: makes their claims that science is to be a basis ridiculous. Their 'science' is nothing but lies.

That said, true science and wise use of resources: choosing simpler ways to do things etc could save us all.

Most of saving the environment without costing lives and economies is by simple solutions. Often lost.

Insulation, green roof-tops, roof and house paint, solar powered water, heat pumps, not so full kettles, etc.

A jersey or jacket instead of air-conditioning. A blanket over the window instead of both.

Sound advice: the gospel of using natural solutions: this is how we can save our planet. Efficiency! Professionalism, curatorship of our lives.

The use of a motor-vehicle powerful enough for our needs. Our everyday needs.

The world was not always reliant on much coal, oil, and electricity. Simpler, older solutions can be the answer.

A global effort at combating climate changes, can only happen on the basis of truth. I truly pray with all my heart that proven frauds such as the UN panel on climate change and Al Gore, are openly known for their lies. That those who hijacked environmentalism for their own selfish agendas are stopped.

But I do more than that: I tell the truth about the environment, because that is the only way to combat climate changes: sound solutions to Eco-problems: in a way sustainable in a real world economy.

Myths, and all out lies have no strength! But truth and openness to lower and simpler solutions acceptable to the existing marketplace will save us from any partly possible climate changes being an issue!

Finally Kindle on the Blackberry Tablet: the so-called Playbook (nothing dodgy meant by that)

Article note by Marc Aupiais

It may seem just a plaything, though some consider it their playmate, the Blackberry Playbook however came minus one functionality my every other device had: a proprietary Kindle Book reading application.

Cloud Reader, for Ipad just wouldn't display or open books. Today, when I tried for the umpteenth time, I changed the orientation and true to form, it seems that the system was tricked. It has even opened a novel, although perhaps the entire system was updated.

Kindle for Blackberry Playbook with a work around, at least cloud reader, which given I always have internet over tethering or wi-fi: is good enough for now.

Not Carbon Based Global Warming After All- Nasa Satellite DATA Study

Article by Marc Aupiais

Forbes reports (And please note, additional research by our service shows they chose to publish it under their online blogs section)
New NASA Data Blow Gaping Hole In Global Warming Alarmism 27 / 28 July 2011
James Taylor
http://news.yahoo.com/nasa-data-blow-gaping-hold-global-warming-alarmism-192334971.html

The study, by the University of Alabama, based on Satellite Data claims that "Global Warming" caused by carbon trapping heat in the atmosphere is so minimal as to be negligible. The research, if noted by Carbon model proponents is sure to be hotly disputed.

As I reported recently, the Daily Mail, reported on a press release by the University of East Anglia, saying that most of the temperature DATA used to correlate with carbon levels in the polar ice, on which global warming claims are based, was destroyed by scientists in the 1980s, British media also reported on great inaccuracies in climate change claims involving the Himalayas, and other regions. The Daily Mail, and other media also recently reported that Earth is set to enter a mini-ice age, due to a temporary lack of Sun Spots (a phenomena discovered by Galileo centuries ago, which then lead to a 2 degrees centigrade reduction in temperatures). Media claiming climate science was in peril include: Daily Mail, the Times and Sunday Times, and the Telegraph in Britain, the first and last still claiming global warming as real.

Ian McEwan says Americans are 'profoundly bored' by climate change
The Telegraph; By Anita Singh, Showbusiness Editor8:00AM BST 17 Jul 2010
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/climatechange/7895747/Ian-McEwan-says-Americans-are-profoundly-bored-by-climate-change.html

The most recent discovery, that the computer models were wrong, would not surprise the  columnists of these papers, which have for years cited the completely inaccurate short and medium term climate forecasts of the British weather servide, since climate change variables were introduced.

The alternate view of climate change is that it is constant and consistent, and more recently caused by soil changes, urbanization and astronomical phenomena such as sun spots etc.

University of Alabama, USA has released the following statement to the Press, July 26th 2011, according to a source cited by the Yahoo News article (Forbes hosted on Yahoo)

"Climate models get energy balance wrong, make too hot forecasts of global warming

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (July 26, 2011) — Data from NASA’s Terra satellite shows that when the climate warms, Earth’s atmosphere is apparently more efficient at releasing energy to space than models used to forecast climate change have been programmed to “believe.”

The result is climate forecasts that are warming substantially faster than the atmosphere, says Dr. Roy Spencer, a principal research scientist in the Earth System Science Center at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

The previously unexplained differences between model-based forecasts of rapid global warming and meteorological data showing a slower rate of warming have been the source of often contentious debate and controversy for more than two decades.

In research published this week in the journal “Remote Sensing” http://www.mdpi.com/2072-4292/3/8/1603/pdf, Spencer and UA Huntsville’s Dr. Danny Braswell compared what a half dozen climate models say the atmosphere should do to satellite data showing what the atmosphere actually did during the 18 months before and after warming events between 2000 and 2011.

“The satellite observations suggest there is much more energy lost to space during and after warming than the climate models show,” Spencer said. “There is a huge discrepancy between the data and the forecasts that is especially big over the oceans.”

Not only does the atmosphere release more energy than previously thought, it starts releasing it earlier in a warming cycle. The models forecast that the climate should continue to absorb solar energy until a warming event peaks. Instead, the satellite data shows the climate system starting to shed energy more than three months before the typical warming event reaches its peak.

“At the peak, satellites show energy being lost while climate models show energy still being gained,” Spencer said.

This is the first time scientists have looked at radiative balances during the months before and after these transient temperature peaks.

Applied to long-term climate change, the research might indicate that the climate is less sensitive to warming due to increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere than climate modelers have theorized. A major underpinning of global warming theory is that the slight warming caused by enhanced greenhouse gases should change cloud cover in ways that cause additional warming, which would be a positive feedback cycle.

Instead, the natural ebb and flow of clouds, solar radiation, heat rising from the oceans and a myriad of other factors added to the different time lags in which they impact the atmosphere might make it impossible to isolate or accurately identify which piece of Earth’s changing climate is feedback from manmade greenhouse gases.

“There are simply too many variables to reliably gauge the right number for that,” Spencer said. “The main finding from this research is that there is no solution to the problem of measuring atmospheric feedback, due mostly to our inability to distinguish between radiative forcing and radiative feedback in our observations.”

For this experiment, the UA Huntsville team used surface temperature data gathered by the Hadley Climate Research Unit in Great Britain. The radiant energy data was collected by the Clouds and Earth’s Radiant Energy System (CERES) instruments aboard NASA’s Terra satellite.

The six climate models were chosen from those used by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The UA Huntsville team used the three models programmed using the greatest sensitivity to radiative forcing and the three that programmed in the least sensitivity."

South Africa to bail out failed dictatorship to tune of 10 billion without democratic reforms, amid crackdowns on decent?

Article by Marc Aupiais
One need not repeat the headline, what the SACBC Cardinal Wilfred Napier has asked is that South Africa demand Swaziland reforms before granting the bail out to the mismanaged land!

"Pretoria
24 June 2011
For Immediate release.
Statement by Cardinal Wilfrid Napier, Spokesman of the Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference (SACBC).
The Catholic Bishops of Southern Africa wish to register their concern at the financial bailout by the South African Treasury of the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland.
It is understood that an amount of R10 Billion is needed to keep the Swazi Government afloat and the administration from collapsing.

Swaziland is currently in the throes of an unprecedented financial and societal crisis.  It has
• the highest HIV & AIDS infection rate in the world (26%);• the lowest life expectancy in the world (32 years);• an unemployment rate of 40% and rising;• and extreme poverty with 70% of its population living below the poverty line of less than US$6  a day.• A State of emergency that has curtailed freedom of expression, association and dissent for the last 37 years.
We believe that the Swaziland Government must abandon or at least reform the "Tinkhundla" system of governance of royal favour and alliance which is a breeding place for corruption and greed.  Monies intended for alleviating the people's suffering are diverted to support the lavish lifestyle of the monarchy.
The People of Swaziland love their King and Country, but the conditions that have created this crisis must not be disregarded by South Africa in considering a bailout.

We therefore call on the South African Government to make the loan CONDITIONAL on the following:
∙         the recognition and implementation the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Swaziland;∙         the revocation by King Mswati III of the royal decree of 12 April 1973 which established a state of emergency;∙         that King Mswati III enter into meaningful dialogue with his people in order to facilitate movement  towards true democracy his country;∙         the establishment of a democratic process for writing a new constitution in which all Swazi's have a part;∙         that the current Swazi Constitution be amended to reinstate the full range of human rights;∙         And that none of the bailout money go directly or indirectly to fund the Monarchy.
In the same way that the South African Government has laudable process examining the sale of Arms to other countries, the same type of process should be employed when it comes to financial support for ailing regional economies.

Cardinal Wilfrid Napier
Archbishop of Durban
Spokesman for the Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference
(The SACBC is constituted by the Catholic Bishops of Botswana, Swaziland and South Africa)

Government spokesman accuses the media of being-Cartel like

M E Aupiais

Government spokesman or perhaps ruling party or personal of himself spokesman is the question to be asked of Mnyani. Either way, South African media have huffed and puffed about the comments, worried as government tries to close the noose on media Freedom, already precariously on a cliff face in the Republic.

As for Mnyani, he says the media is like a cartel and refuses to answer on Norwegian corruption allegations.

"I ask myself ... Why is the media so hostile to the government" Myani is quoted by Independent Newspapers' political Bureau as telling Talk Radio 702 host John Robbie.

"They all speak the same, they all think the same" he is reported to have said of the three main media houses, saying media needed to be "diversified", a phrase similar to that of "transformed", by which loyal and incidentally black judges have replaced independent white ones in South Africa's post-apartheid judiciary (South Africa rejects the jury system).

Media in the Republic have claimed new regulations allowing government to prevent publication of articles, stories is tantamount to silencing the press. Media have and have always had no special rights or protections in South Africa, and journalists do get sent to jail for protecting sources, if caught, as with lawyers who have no attorney client privilege.

Manyi said that there were 'shocking' cartel-like tendencies at work in the call by SA National Editor's Forum chairperson Mondi Makhanya asking media to work together in light of the latest regulations suggested. Trade Union and Tripartyd Alliance member Cosatu has slammed the regulations as undemocratically penalising whistle blowers. Their close alliance with the ANC has lead to delays in the regulations' release.

Recently the Regulation of the Interception of Communications Amendment Act mandated that all mobile phone conversations' contents be recorded for the state by mobile (or in South African English: Cellular) Operators. This in addition to smses (texts) which companies already kept for five years after customers made them. Also to be kept for the government: all emails made through or in the Republic.

Added to this, and increased funding for the police now under a Zuma loyalist, and the army, the press claim that media freedom itself is at stake.

In South Africa where the ANC has had a massive majority in parliament since 1996, and the Nationalist party had the same setup before, media has often been the only real opposition voice.

Media in South Africa has been accused of a liberal or white bias, despite most journalists being black. This is not unexpected, and the opposing English (liberal, at times: anti-Apartheid) and Afrikaans (conservative, at times: pro-apartheid) views of the past are both at odds with the more Africanist ANC.

BEE, and transformation laws: mandating massive sale of shares to blacks, and hiring of blacks, and support of charities aiding blacks, not whites: something which has lead ANC allies to have massive unfair business success, have yet to cause media to become an ANC ally.

An attempt at an ANC newspaper failed recently. The SABC, the state run broadcaster has been accused since the days of Thabo Mbeki's presidency of giving cabinet ministers unfair time on television, and radio, and of being a propaganda service. SABC heads who don't toe the party line whether related or not, tend to be called to ANC headquarters.

The majority of South Africans get their views via Government radio, and not the barely penetrating three major independent press houses: Naspers, Independent Media, and SAPA!

My greatest weakness

Note by Marc Evan Aupiais

What's my greatest weakness? Accountability!

I need to be honest, ethical, accountable in all I do: or I feel terrible, get sick, and cannot function.

I don't lie! I'm me! Always! Even if it hurts me!

I don't feel embarrassment! Not easily!

What some would hide I put up into print!

If I were mocked or bullied or hurt for telling truth! And there happened to be a camera recording it! And someone in charge of the mocking in authority! I might just save such video to hold them accountable.

Of course I am also discerning! There are actions I should do, to prevent harm to others that I will not do.

And I would not stop someone betraying or letting me down.

I have a need for accountability and to always be real and moral! And ethical!

What I get I must get the right way or I'll probably destroy or throw it out.

Mother told me a story as a child: of how the Allies when they came across the advanced Nazi medical knowledge, destroyed it: it was gained by murder!

It's guided me through life! Ethics! Not just looking good, being good! And gaining what you gain morally and honestly! Without destroying your own human dignity by sin, greed, unethical, immoral acts.

I was always taught "be international", there's always a "bigger pond", be accountable to the Universe and God.

It is this that stops me hating and enables me forgiveness! Though I struggle!

And accountability! This guides me! My name is who I am! I am Marc Evan Aupiais! I do all in my name!

Yes! It is a sin to reveal sins without just cause! But sometimes its a sin not to! Anything I do! I own up to! I face the music, and the muse!

My honesty is my greatest weakness! But its who I am! And I won't deny it! It is my choice! And thus my greatest strength!

The evil youth

Note by M E Aupiais

Its assumed often that youth are depraved! That teenagers etc naturally are!

This wasn't always the case and in many societies isn't!

Teenagers may be depraved if their parents let their desires, every want, or tv or the shocking "teen" books out these days guide them.

But a fruit is of the tree!

A parent who raises an individual gets one. A parent who teaches things, money isn't everything but has importance next to other true gifts, which matter more: friendship, honesty, integrity, conscience, religion, virtues; godliness, God- gets such a child!

A parent who raises a thinking discerning child gains a thinking discerning child.

I am 20 turning 21! I still won't watch 18 movies or 16 for sex!

I also don't drink or smoke!

I credit much of this to my upbringing!

Born and bred!

I was taught to think! Before any other lesson was learnt!

Drug war- why the idiot governments fail

Note by Marc Aupiais

Politicians being the druggie associates they are, in many countries want to stop the drug war.
They say it fails.

I'll tell you why. When those buying have virtual impunity, supply continues.

If you want to stop drugs, have drug testing like alcohol testing and have long sentences- for users!

Not just small fines and done. No wonder you lose. No. Send drug users to jail, confiscate their cars and houses.
One may say- what it they don't seek help then.

Well perhaps create an amnesty for those who do and complete thirty days cold turkey or the like.

Fact is- the reason drug wars fail and lives are lost and the economies damaged- is that drug use only has the penalties of using.

6 months in a rehabilitation centre mandatory or the like, even when clean. And perhaps some hard labour would have a different effect if enforced and publicised!

Sexualization of minors slated by Great Britain

Note by Marc Aupiais

The Tory Coalition government in Great Britain has slated as detrimental the sexualization of children. Rightly identifying a main source, it has attacked music videos.

Another source seemingly left unidentified- lies in the immoral lives of celebrities children are encouraged to emulate. Especially American actors, actresses, and singers.

Particularly those of the ex-Disney brand- a situation caused by American refusal to ban child labour, despite evidence of lost childhoods, drug addiction, and other problems.

Russian Federation bans European Vegetables imports

Note by Marc Aupiais

The Republic's BRICS ally, the Russian Federation, has banned imports of European vegetables over E.Coli. Blaming Cucumber, the Sprouts, EU authorities have yet to find the deadly source of outbreak. Russia has determined to risk good relations with Europe, seemingly in order to insure Russian lives are not lost in diplomacy.

The Republic exports fruits and vegetables to Europe, and any imports from Europe in South Africa on fruits and vegetables are minimal. Our Russian ally, however, imports vegetables from Europe.

DA doing better

Analysis by Marc Aupiais

I obviously voted DA. No question. Most white South Africans did. Most educated South Africans did. The better service and lack of nepotism is enough to attract voting.

Mother got us all to wake early and vote. I'd been planning a day off... But she insisted, so us four went off to vote.

I'm glad I did.

24 % is good. After Us is IFP with like 2 percent, then COPE, and the IFP offshoot.

24 percent, when whites are a minority. That means black votes. That means a lot of black votes.

I joked I wanted to play a Selena Gomez cd to block out the megaphone shouting ANC lies at campus on Monday already. Sadly many South Africans consider voting a duty not a right. That is to say if they register they feel they have no choice who to elect.

Fear and hatred of whites oft still dominates. We the slain beast. Just as Americans rejoice at the slaying of a certain senile arab.

Fear disrupts democratic truths. We are stopped electing who we want and instead vote against who we despise.

So, I voted DA... Because I'm sick... Tired... Of being ripped off for Electricity, unsafe roads, internet, telephone, cellular phone, tv. I'm sick also of a government which canvasses votes on hatred of my tribe- the white tribe- the "Europeans" who our basically illiterate president says are not consistent with a "true South African".

Speaking of which, #1984 who's next on America's hit list. Yemen?

The Third Instinct - By Marc Aupiais

The Third Instinct - by Marc Aupiais

Soon to be in physical format too!

Love to be fanned

Sancte Philomena Ora Pro Nobis!

About:

Set in the Greater Johannesburg Area, where the author grew up, this novel discussed South African history, geography, politics, religion, and so much else, in a suspense filled and thriller format. Also entering into the discussion on bio-ethics, murder, death of a friend, suicide, as well as the ethics of espionage and computer hacking, and where patriotism is good, and where it is to the nation's detriment.

The main character Sidney Wolf, as well as other characters, in life and death situations, are forced to choose between what they believe is right and what is most expedient, with varying results.

The novel was written by author Marc Aupiais at the age of 14, before minor edits were made, including footnotes for North American readers, before the author's 21st birthday. It was published first as an ebook, and finally in physical form!

Voting right

Note by Marc Aupiais

As we have a right to vote, we ought certainly vote right. Whether not voting at all, or voting for the right mayor.

Mother convinced me to vote this time. I am not to say for which party. Private as I am. No longer a Democratic Alliance politician at my University, I need no longer say whom I voted for.

Voting encourages transparency. Especially in by-elections when your voice is amplified. So few vote. So many count the consequence.

Both the COPE and ANC have raised the ancestors from the ground, and resurrected God for their campaigns- or so they claim.

The DA has claimed business management and experience and lack of corruption as their manifesto. And added bad dancing to the mix.

What does this all mean?

My electricity bill is so high it affects my ability to buy new gadgets. I am restricted in my number of pets I'm allowed, I think unfairly. Madmen have been forced to the streets so I fear to open my car window.

All this is my fault. Is yours.

For a healthy democracy we must debate, must vote, must raise the real issues and criticise both sides- objectively.

We must educate all on real issues. Not smoke, mirrors and sunlight dish washing liquid.

The DA and ANC's ability to build toilets and walls around them have been a focus.

People march and riot in streets. Police torture, murder.

My phone conversations, yours are all kept on record (RICA Amendment act), as with our e-communication.

Vote. But also talk politics.

Wake up oh sleeper. I certainly have. And I shall vote... Possibly DA as I always have.

Discuss the election. Write about it. Tell your friends on facebook.

You are more connected to your friends and acquaintances than anyone else... Than a distant newspaper writer with bi-focals.

Superman was my hero growing up. Not the guy with the underwear without. Likely not washed ever. And very uncomfortable and unfashionable in a woman's tights.

No- Clark Kent, Louis, his girlfriend. Tell the truth. It will set things right, and let the good out.

But tell it wisely. Look between the smoke and mirrors. God bless you. Now off and vote.

Thoughts on Malema and kill the boer

Note by Marc Aupiais

Malema is treating a part of the population as subhuman for the sake of culture. This is what this opinion article elaborates!

Recently I read of Trigg, Palin's son, who suffers a disability from before birth but after conception. He was mocked, called retarded, treated as predictable and pointless by Democrat supporters of the Culture of Death part of the blog-o-sphere in USA America.

It reminded me of Patrick and Matthew Archbold on abortion: how does one know a society is committing a genocide: be it the National Socialists of Germany or the Nationalists of South Africa, or the Communists and Socialists of Russia...

The answer is simple enough. You create a genocide or partake in one when you treat others as sub or superhuman.

The Islamist is superhuman. The Hun is superhuman.

The curly haired unbeliever/infidel was "subhuman".

And so forth.

When we call human life less than human- when we do away with human dignity that is: we cause it to be endangered and endanger it to the culture of death.

Malema wants to sing/shout at the top of his lungs "Kill the Boer": a phrase uniquely offensive to almost all white South Africans who feel targeted, subhuman. Boarish.

So if Malema can sing this song, for cultural reasons: the old culture of death which erupted in South Africa and conquered both sides for years, then we have danger.

We have super or subhuman whites. And thus super or subhuman blacks.

Isolating a minority race is only the start. The end is hatred. The end is the culture of death.

When speaking of people, we ought take into account their soul, their dignity, their right to be spoken to and of as human beings.

We are all sinful. What sets us apart is goodness!

Remember when... A beautiful prose a friend sent me

Note by Marc Aupiais

Do you remember when ..Your close friends became strangers, lollipops turned into cigarettes, the innocent ones turned into sluts, homework goes in the bin, soda became vodka, kisses turned into sex. Remember when getting high meant swinging on the playground? When protection meant wearing a helmet? When the worst thing you could get from boys/girls were lergies? Dads shoulders were the highest place on earth and mum was your hero? Your worst enemies were your siblings. Race issues were about who ran the fastest, the only drug you knew was calpole, wearing a skirt didnt make you a slut, the only thing that hurt you was skinned knees and goodbyes only meant until tomorrow? And we just couldn't wait to grow up ..Shows you how fast things change and how f----d up things are now-a-days. Pass on if u realise this..

[To which another friend said its why they never grew up!]

APPLE (Ipod, Itunes, Ipad, Mac) considers Mainstream and Catholic Christianity "objectionable" "potentially harmful"

Article by Marc Aupiais

Christianity is "potentially harmful"
 to others, "objectionable"
- Apple
Apple has clearly drawn the battle lines against Christianity and the majority of the people in the world. Originally removing a statement of accepted Christian faith from their Istore, because it stated carefully and inoffensively that marriage is between a man and a woman, apple continues to stand by its decision to prevent this app from being on their store. The move clearly shows how apple views Christians.

In response I have personally deleted ITunes, and there are other providers of all content apple gives. E.g. your blackberry can be used like an IPod, and Blackberry is soon releasing the Blackberry Playbook.

Amazon sells music and videos etc.

Apple considers biblical Christian faith to be "potentially harmful" and "objectionable", so let them know how you feel and be sure to get your friends also to not help a platform for hate speech against Christians.

Fight Apple, the Evil Empire 2.0. - email Steve Jobs opposing his bigotry! May God make Apple computers bankrupt- my prayer! And my email to Steve Jobs

Article by Marc Aupiais

Evil Empire 2.0 has taken a stance most people in the world would see as evil, partisan and plain and simply freak, so I emailed their head and I advise you to as well. email steve@apple.com now and make sure to let him know that next time you consider buying apple, chances are you'll think again. why? because they have chosen to attack Christians for being Christians. The Catholic Archdiocese of Washington has a good analysis of Apple's anti-Catholicism, anti-Eastern Orthodox, ant-Evangelical stance:

Former Revolutionary Becomes Big Brother – Steve Jobs and Apple Refuse a Pro-life and Pro-Marriage App
http://blog.adw.org/2010/12/former-revolutionary-becomes-big-brother-steve-jobs-and-apple-refuse-a-pro-life-and-pro-marriage-app/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=facebook

Oh and sign the petition to STOP APPLE CENSORING RELIGIOUS PEOPLE
http://www.manhattandeclaration.org/media/petition.aspx

and as for my letter which they and I suggest you write something like:

subject: Your hatred of Christians
contents:

Is not unnoticed, I am looking for alternatives to Apple everywhere, and will encourage others to as well. Censoring the Manhattan declaration while your podcasts list has so many sexually explicit videos... just shows why I was right not to buy an ipad or apple computer. I will be sure to give you as much bad press as possibly in my blogs. I will also pray for your company to go bankrupt.

Thank you for letting the majority of the people in the world know just how American, and partisan apple is, just how much it hates the views that the majority of people in the world hold. It will not be forgiven or forgotten!

My open letter to Catholic Culture / Catholic World News!

Article by Marc Aupiais

Your article on the European Court of Human Rights finding is not only misleading it is inaccurate. The BBC itself seems to have gotten the facts wrong but this is not as excusable for Catholic culture. As someone who is studying law and takes an interest in these sorts of cases, I was upset that you did not even refer to the judgement or differentiate at all!

Here is my own take on the matter. Read it or don't, but this is entirely unacceptable from an organisation such as yours:

European court rules- No human right to abortion, but asks Irish government for clearer regulations
http://sacns.scripturelink.net/2010/12/european-court-rules-no-human-right-to.html

I find it amazing consistently how big organizations get things wrong, while people like me who write for no profit but an interest, so often get better results by careful research.

Is anyone on your team legally trained in Roman Law principles on which human rights and European law are based?

Shocking!

Who is man's best friend?

Note by Marc Aupiais

Below is another article used with permission from a Greek Orthodox friend of mine and fellow law student Mari Kalabakas, much wisdom to be read here:

"who is man's best friend?

by Marianna Irene Kalabakas — Leave a comment

December 12, 2010

We all spend our lives looking for someone to understand us. A lover, a friend, a helping hand- someone. We watch the movies, we read the books…so we look for a relationship that will mimic it.

We spend our lives trying to be understood, by someone. Aristotle once said "a friend is a single soul dwelling in 2 bodies." I have to disagree. There are something's you cannot tell your friend. Some friends steal your partners. Some friends use you when they need you. How about all the times you tell them something in confidence and the whole world finds out about it a few hours later. Therefore, you cannot share everything with your friends, it would just be- impossible!

I might disagree with sharing a soul with your friend, but I do believe friends come into our lives at different times and in different forms. We have our pets, that rely on us, that are there for us, when the world turns its back on us. We have our parents or guardians that are also there for us no matter what we do. We might find someone accidentally, someone we have never met before, someone who has so much in common with us, we instantly feel a connection to. We feel as if we've known them for years. Although you've never met, you can tell them your innermost thoughts and feelings.

Then we have the people we have known for years. The people we grew up with, we know they not the most trustworthy, yet we appreciate them and socialize with them in a way that makes you almost friends.

Then we have the friends that have been there for you through everything. The friends you have been there for too. Those are your true friends. The ones you will never forget and will never forget you. The ones that will always be just a phone call away. That person who loves and respects you for who you are.

We might be looking for that fairy tale friendship and miss out on the ones that are most important. We might lose friends, but we had them at times when we or they needed help the most. That will keep the friendship bond alive, no matter what happens in the future."

Doubts as to reason for Greek Orthodox Prelate's removal- Politics seem to be EVERYWHERE! « Marianna Irene Kalabakas's Blog

Note by Marc Aupiais

A good friend of mine, and fellow law student has a fascinating op-ed on doubts as to why the Johannesburg Greek Orthodox archbishop was shipped off to Africa.

She has permitted myself to republish her work for the SACNS which I believe benefits.

The Greek Orthodox church while being Apostolic- and having valid bishops and priests is not currently in communion with Rome due to differences on some important theological matters. It is greatly respected by Rome among the churches not in communion.

Below is the fascinating analysis of someone who has had much contact with a bishop of the Greek Orthodox church, who wonders if he was ousted for political reasons:

"Politics seem to be EVERYWHERE!

by Marianna Irene Kalabakas

December 12, 2010

I might not be the most reliable source to comment on this, but, the following is my opinions on the removal of the Greek Orthodox Archbishop Seraphim in South Africa.

I knew Archbishop Seraphim, from my school years. He was always at school plays, christmas parties and whenever in church, would ask my parents how I am! Fantastic man he really is!

I will personally admit, as church gatherings at "panigiria," he would annoy me because I would want to have holy communion because I would fast from the night before and would be hungry by 1 o'clock, when communion would be given! The reason for my annoyance was because the service would stop for about 3 hours in which certificates of thanks would be given to numerous people, both dead and alive. But you ended up living with these long processes.

I'm not sure what happened and they removed him from our post. But after the community started being run by a new committee they removed him and a few other priests and sent them to various African countries and one was sent to Cyprus.

Today was the day the new Archbishop Damaskinos was enthroned as the new Archbishop of Johannesburg and Pretoria. To be honest, the church was empty considering, all the Orthodox churches throughout Gauteng where closed. Seraphim, is Cypriot and the Cypriots form a large part of the community down here. The majority of the Cypriots where not even present at this gathering. Personally speaking, I assume they where boycotting this new enthronement.

During the enthronement, the Patriarchi of Africa, did not refer to Seraphim at all, just once. The only person he spoke of was the late Archbishop Peter who passed away many years ago. This conduct, made me wonder whether he had anything to do with Seraphim's removal?

That is a question that I doubt will be answered."

Sacbc wanna be popular

Note by Marc Aupiais

I always laugh when I notice the difference between sacbc press releases etc and media quotes of them. The things they say to please media are quoted. The rest - the Catholic parts are left out.

Not so with what Cardinal Napier said recently- that the Catholic church has NO jurisdiction in deciding whether a couple uses condoms or not.

Sadly the heterodox legacy of John Paul II's incompetent, politically motivated, smiling magical circle church is far from dead, or retired. A church which lies about the gospel, and adds oddly about sex abuse claims still exists- here in Southern Africa and elsewhere. Unfortunately many of our bishops are better politicians than shepherds, and fishers of men.

Wikileaks kicked off Amazon, American companies warned not to host, French try block it- Reuters France24 - Cyber attacks force WikiLeaks to move web address

Note by Marc Aupiais

They said they chose to use Amazon to prove they were against free speech, and to use USA addresses and French addresses for the same reason. Wikileaks has lost their American address wikileaks.org along with all (things) American. Though one dns group suggested it was due to constant web attacks (does that mean America employs an army of hackers as china allegedly does?).

The Pirate Party in Switzerland has given the group wikileaks.ch an address they are unlikely to lose given the power of the Pirate Party and the backlash for any who dare.

Their "web hotel" Swedish web servers are up and running and set to remain.

Recently Russia suggested that some elements of the control of the internet be shifted from America to the United Nations.

On the international censorship:

http://mobile.france24.com//en/20101203-wikileaks-website-address-server-cyber-attacks-switzerland-france-usa

For the first time- US military banned from news sites reporting on Wikileaks says France24 - AFP- US army warns soldiers in Iraq against viewing WikiLeaks

Note by Marc Aupiais

I find it odd in the very least. Previous Wikileaks did not involve a warning of lawless behaviour and threats of prosecution for any US soldier reading news about Wikileaks. Yet these diplomatic Wikileaks being released- which has seen never before heard of aggression by the US government under Barack Obama against the whistle-blowers has prompted this?

Perhaps it is the way America humiliates her allies, or the fact many of her diplomats are spies and thus as credible as thief brigades.

Perhaps they fear morale. Or worse- terror attacks by their own troops once again. Even the Israeli army is allowed to be informed of what their government does. Yet, America somehow fears Wikileaks is Obama's Armageddon? Well they did invade babylon of old, in an illegal war.

That the person who allegedly leaked was openly serving illegally in the US army, contravening Don't Ask Don't Tell as an activist speaks volumes about Barack Obama.

Across the world, as with the fallout against America following 9/11- people will be turning against the nation once ironically called the Free World.

No need for killing foetuses at all- with new Stem cell treatment

Note by Marc Aupiais

In the past it has been claimed there is a need to harvest stem cells from abortions to compare with adult stem cells moved back. Embryonic stem cells often cause cancer, adult stem cells (not from aborted human beings) were seen as the safest. If it is confirmed, a new method which involves straight transfer from stem cells to needed cells may do away with that so-called not really need altogether:

"Canadian scientists have turned human skin cells directly into blood cells, the first time one kind of mature human cell has been converted into another, according to a study published last week in the journal Nature.

The transformation was completed without first rewinding the skin cells into the flexible pluripotent stem cells that have most frequently been used to grow tissues. By skipping the pluripotent step, the researchers believe they have skirted the risk that the replacement cells might form dangerous tumours.

The team created blood progenitor cells - mother cells that multiply to produce other blood cells - as well as mature blood cells, according to the report. Both types of cells could be useful in medical treatments, said study leader Mick Bhatia, a stem cell scientist at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario."

Why aid destroys economies but loans and trade save lives

Article by Marc Aupiais

On the Haiti situation I gave extensive coverage as I have before to the fact that the local disaster hit country's economy would suffer for years to come, causing many deaths: not due to the natural disaster, but due to aid groups ignoring subsidiarity, and importing aid supplies and volunteers, rather than utilising local resources: a practice which has the same effect on an economy as dumping cheap goods no longer of use.

What has worked is micro-loans and business investment, and investment in infrastructure projects: something often ignored by major offenders such as the ever more political Red Cross and Unicef, as well as unfortunately the United Nations, with its development goals.

Rather than focussing on getting families out of poverty by spurring business, it focusses on born women and children, making the child unsupported when he becomes an adult. Such counter-cultural goals, have a real measurable cost, namely lost income for women and children, due to a focus on them rather than on the family structures: on education for women for instance: when unlikely to get a job, and when their uneducated husband could better support them if more educated.

Not to ever suggest that not educating women can be of benefit, but international donors always tend to ignore the best solutions locally and to forget local beliefs. The fact that  condoms are seen as foreign and evil in Africa, should have tuned donors in to the Ugandan success of combating polygamy and extra-marital sex: playing on responsibility and personal will power.

What works? Same as everywhere else: jobs, micro-loans, infrastructure projects and investments: such as into China. What doesn't work? Politics and arrogance.

The type of Tea Party, without a guest list

Article by Marc Aupiais

The hooligan tea Party in the United States, is doing every attempt to strangle the Establishment Republicans into submission. A group of radicals, rebels, and people whose homes were foreclosed, the group is becoming even more furious: than the monkey American founders who ruined perfectly good tea.

The Republican Party is predicted to regain the house, and seep, or is it sweep Hope and Change away with the same broom the government took from American workers and gave to China, as it further chained itself to debt.

The Tea Party, like the uneducated British Football hooligans (not the ones who play in the Premier league), is certainly making splashes with their efforts to blow greenhorns into Washington, while of course claiming that they are not nearly as green as Obama.

Idealists, conservatives, and the Angry Mob in check, the Tea Party movement is certainly the new Katrina: resurrected after her pathetic pagan funeral.

If the Republican Establishment is not careful, it will sweep it off its feet, and create a new party: either out of the Republican party or all on its own.

As much as they remind one of JK Rolling's House-elves, the tea Party Republicans, and every ordinary voters, have something to say, as loudly as those who elected a token black president.

And I personally think that the Republican party should listen to the Unwashed Masses, who can no longer afford the expensive soap!

Fwd: Use CPR without the kiss of life- Experts advise (video link below)

Until the second mention of Saint Philomena is me!

Of interest I thinks!

Sancte Philomena Ora Pro Nobis!

---------- Forwarded message ----------

I don't know about the video but Lancet says:

"Cardiac-only resuscitation by bystanders is the preferable approach to resuscitation for adult patients with witnessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, especially those with apnoea, shockable rhythm, or short periods of untreated arrest."

BBC Says:

"They checked their theory by looking at the outcomes of more than 4,000 adult patients who had been helped by bystanders.

They found chest-compression-only resuscitation was the clear winner compared with conventional CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or mouth-to-mouth breathing together with chest compressions).
Colin Elding of the British Heart Foundation said a number of studies had shown it could be as effective as combined mouth-to-mouth ventilation and compression in many cases.
But he said it was right for CPR guidelines to still include mouth-to-mouth.
He added: "The current guidelines state, however, that for 'lay person' CPR, if the rescuer is unwilling or unable to give rescue breaths they should give chest compressions only and that these should be continuous at a rate of 100 per minute. The BHF believes this is sound advice.

"Cardiac arrests are a serious problem in the UK, which is why the BHF recently launched its Doubt Kills campaign, to encourage people experiencing potential heart attack symptoms to call 999.""

Last Updated: Friday, 16 March 2007, 00:03 GMT
Drop 'kiss of life', urge medics

Chest compressions help pump blood round the body
Advising first-aiders to give the "kiss of life" is off-putting
and unnecessary, say medics.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6454013.stm

And from the New England Journal of Medicine

"

RESULTS

Data were analyzed for 241 patients randomly assigned to receive chest compression alone and 279 assigned to chest compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation. Complete instructions were delivered in 62 percent of episodes for the group receiving chest compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation and 81 percent of episodes for the group receiving chest compression alone (P=0.005). Instructions for compression required 1.4 minutes less to complete than instructions for compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation. Survival to hospital discharge was better among patients assigned to chest compression alone than among those assigned to chest compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation (14.6 percent vs. 10.4 percent), but the difference was not statistically significant (P=0.18).

CONCLUSIONS

The outcome after CPR with chest compression alone is similar to that after chest compression with mouth-to-mouth ventilation, and chest compression alone may be the preferred approach for bystanders inexperienced in CPR."

RESULTS

Of the 1941 patients who met the inclusion criteria, 981 were randomly assigned to receive chest compression alone and 960 to receive chest compression plus rescue breathing. We observed no significant difference between the two groups in the proportion of patients who survived to hospital discharge (12.5% with chest compression alone and 11.0% with chest compression plus rescue breathing, P=0.31) or in the proportion who survived with a favorable neurologic outcome in the two sites that assessed this secondary outcome (14.4% and 11.5%, respectively; P=0.13). Prespecified subgroup analyses showed a trend toward a higher proportion of patients surviving to hospital discharge with chest compression alone as compared with chest compression plus rescue breathing for patients with a cardiac cause of arrest (15.5% vs. 12.3%, P=0.09) and for those with shockable rhythms (31.9% vs. 25.7%, P=0.09).

CONCLUSIONS

Dispatcher instruction consisting of chest compression alone did not increase the survival rate overall, although there was a trend toward better outcomes in key clinical subgroups. The results support a strategy for CPR performed by laypersons that emphasizes chest compression and minimizes the role of rescue breathing. "This article has no abstract; the first 100 words appear below.
The major determinants of survival after witnessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation include whether a bystander initiates cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how quickly defibrillation is accomplished.
The now-classic observations of Eisenberg et al. were that among patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation, 43 percent survived to leave the hospital if CPR was initiated by a bystander within four minutes and if definitive therapy was delivered within eight minutes.1 Survival decreased to less than 7 percent if basic CPR was not initiated until 8 minutes, and no patient survived after 16 minutes of untreated ventricular fibrillation."

This is so much better.......easier to remember.........let's share it.
Sure is a lot more likely that someone would do this than the old method.

THIS IS WORTH SHARING WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY
The following video on a new method of CPR only takes a few minutes to watch....and those few minutes spent, could SAVE A LIFE!
