Church fails to confirm ANY major venue for a papal event as it tries to shift responsibility to the Government- Telegraph

Article by Marc Aupiais

The Blogs Editor of the Daily Telegraph claims that there is a crisis as to the venues where the pope is supposed to say mass in September. His criticism, I am sure, he would claim, has nothing to do with his support of the Tory/Conservative party, currently running Great Britain, in coalition. Or, with Damien Thompson's dislike of the Bishops of England and Wales.

We Con the world- by the IDF... um I mean Jerusalem Post... um I mean...

Article by Marc Aupiais

Okay, I watched parts of it on France 24 on my computer, and I decided it was hilarious, and it is after all political satire. I don't endorse their views, but I get a bit sick of the bias in local South African media against Israel, so, without endorsing them IDF, or agreeing with their views, or the views of the satirists, including an important figure at the Jerusalem Post, I am linking to this, simply because it is newsworthy. I am not endorsing it!

I got the link from the Jerusalem Post

As I said, matters, as it shows the Israeli view, and that is the thing which must be taken into account, if Israel will ever feel safe enough to stay within international standards.

Pampers- in anti-abortion fight? ... well- when it's its customers anyway

Article by Marc Aupiais

Big Diapers- in anti-abortion fight... well when it's its customers anyway
Big Diapers, as they are called here: a.k.a. Pampers obviously felt the bottom line (I love these puns), and has decided to go on a campaign to encourage women to carry to term. Of course, the Apple IPad app by Pampers does not mean they have ended their support of Unicef*, which promotes abortion among those who can't afford Pampers nappies.

According to financial firm KPMG, we might all feel the pinch from the population decline soon- given the coming skills shortage they predict, so Pampers, it is coming!

*It may be noted that Pampers does work with pro-abortion, pro-sterilization group Unicef, and help to fund it:

Hamas, not Israel now holding up aid into Gaza?

Obama, don't tear down these wells- oil spill victims

The people of the Gulf Coast, USA (America/ United States), are demanding that the possibly negligent BP spill not cost oil jobs!- Says ABC Australia!

Australia: Internet filter, which would block pornography and other banned material

"The Government has though called in the Federal Police to investigate the search engine provider over alleged privacy breaches, as Samantha Donovan reports.

SAMANTHA DONOVAN: The Federal Communications Minister Stephen Conroy has been at loggerheads with Google recently over his plans to introduce a mandatory internet filter. Last month he called Google "creepy" and accused it of committing the "single greatest breach in the history of privacy".

Google says the internet filter, which would block pornography and other banned material, could affect user speeds and accidentally filter legitimate material and now the Minister is battling Google on another front. He outlined his concerns on ABC local radio in Melbourne this morning." - ABC Australia!

I hope he succeeds with the filter, and if Google is guilty, then it is good for them to answer, healthy for business!

Is the Red Cross pro-Islamist?

Teaching medical aid to Taliban fighters in Afghanistan openly, and now this, an attempt to break a political Israeli blockade, which may well even further polarize the mideast!

Turkish response is odd on #Israel

Now, ABC Australia's headline may point to a refusal to calls for an international investigation, but what is new there: this is what interests me most in the coverage of ABC Australia, which I listen to via PodCast:

"BRENDAN TREMBATH: Israel maintains a naval blockade of the Gaza Strip because it wants to weaken the grip of the militant group Hamas and get back a captured Israeli soldier.

Turkey's Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu understands why Israel maintains the blockade but he's angry about the deaths of nine Turkish nationals who were trying to bring aid supplies into Gaza.

AHMET DAVUTOGLU: One of the reasons why Israel is implementing blockade against Gaza is Gilad Shalit case. One Israeli soldier was captured by Hamas in 2006. For last four years Israel made it an important case and we respect this but they also should respect to our request - why our nine citizens were killed in international waters?

BRENDAN TREMBATH: Basic goods including canned tuna, tea and coffee are allowed in but the Israelis have banned building materials such as steel pipes which they say could be used to make weapons.

The Middle East envoy Tony Blair has told CNN that Israel is justified in trying the stop weapons being brought in."

Satirical humour, or anti-Islamic: Israel's "We Con The World"

Satirical of media coverage of a convoy of about five humanitarian aid ships which were sent to break the Israeli Gaza blockade by Free Gaza, a YouTube Video which had the aid of the conservative Jerusalem Post, accuses Free Gaza of conning the world. Either way, it has received over 1 000 000 (One Million) hits on YouTube.

It is thought to reflect Israeli sentiment strongly, and I personally think it interesting. After all, that there was only fighting on one of the ships, killing 9 activists, and then there is that relatives had talked of plans of activist martyrdom to the papers in Turkey. The Israeli video of events also showed activists fighting back violently.

Some time before the most recent ship was blocked, ABC Australia was told that previous Free Gaza ships have gotten through to Gaza, by an activist. The ships were carrying illegal aid: Concrete and Paper, as well as other materials, Australian Broadcasting Corporation was then told.

While I think the video, and the Jerusalem Post, itself, are very useful in understanding Israeli sentiment- something which will need to change if Gaza is ever to be "freed", I do think it likely is offensive, that said, offensive speech and humour is better than rocket attacks, I think it healthy for the world to understand how Israel feels.

Ultimately, dialogue, even offensive dialogue, should be allowed. I truly believe that when the international community starts to focus on the plight of both sides more fully, including the plight of minorities, that that is when peace may come.

To put my point, that this is an Israeli viewpoint out stronger, Israel's press office released it to foreign journalists, by accident they say.

As I am not certain how I view the video, and refuse to add to the hits, instead, I have linked to ABC Australia on the issue. I support neither side in the middle east.

Thank God if France 24 is right: Foxconn suicides and an end to Chinese slave labour?

Outback Children in Australia may lose another year

"The Queensland Government is considered is moving Year 7 students from primary to secondary schools, as part of a review of its education system. The idea's being opposed by many families in regional towns who say they can't afford an additional year of boarding school in bigger cities, and fear the drop in student numbers will see resources cut to country primary schools." says ABC Australia via The World Today.

Outback children can do much of their learning via correspondence during junior school, however, for highschool, the government has them sent to boarding schools. Many in Queensland don't understand why their children can't do highschool via video conferencing. I think that the more time spent with family, and the less at boarding school the better, I hope the detractors win this one out and the children aren't sent away a year earlier, especially given the cost to rural families!

Costa Rice closes down unproven Stem Cell treatments

While there are patients claiming success with the treatments, using adult "master" stem cells, the type which show a lot more promise scientifically than embryonic stem cells (harvested from the corpses of aborted babies, sometimes conceived to create the cells), Costa Rica has closed down a clinic offering alleged treatment of certain serious diseases, not due to a bad success rate, but until such time as the treatment is proven. Costa Rica, like some South African firms, has enough medical expertise, to have created a market of medical treatment tourism, unlike the South African firms, which work overseas, Costa Rican firms, attract visitors by offering much cheaper treatments. Much as South Africa has plastic surgery tourism, Costa Rica has much more beneficial tourism, however, the offering of the Master Cells treatment before USA FDA approval and placebo trials, shows just one weakness, and the need for research.
