I don't know about the video but Lancet says:
"Cardiac-only resuscitation by bystanders is the preferable approach to resuscitation for adult patients with witnessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, especially those with apnoea, shockable rhythm, or short periods of untreated arrest."
"They checked their theory by looking at the outcomes of more than 4,000 adult patients who had been helped by bystanders.
They found chest-compression-only resuscitation was the clear winner compared with conventional CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or mouth-to-mouth breathing together with chest compressions).
Colin Elding of the British Heart Foundation said a number of studies had shown it could be as effective as combined mouth-to-mouth ventilation and compression in many cases.
But he said it was right for CPR guidelines to still include mouth-to-mouth.
He added: "The current guidelines state, however, that for 'lay person' CPR, if the rescuer is unwilling or unable to give rescue breaths they should give chest compressions only and that these should be continuous at a rate of 100 per minute. The BHF believes this is sound advice.
"Cardiac arrests are a serious problem in the UK, which is why the BHF recently launched its Doubt Kills campaign, to encourage people experiencing potential heart attack symptoms to call 999.""
Data were analyzed for 241 patients randomly assigned to receive chest compression alone and 279 assigned to chest compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation. Complete instructions were delivered in 62 percent of episodes for the group receiving chest compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation and 81 percent of episodes for the group receiving chest compression alone (P=0.005). Instructions for compression required 1.4 minutes less to complete than instructions for compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation. Survival to hospital discharge was better among patients assigned to chest compression alone than among those assigned to chest compression plus mouth-to-mouth ventilation (14.6 percent vs. 10.4 percent), but the difference was not statistically significant (P=0.18).
The outcome after CPR with chest compression alone is similar to that after chest compression with mouth-to-mouth ventilation, and chest compression alone may be the preferred approach for bystanders inexperienced in CPR."
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation by Chest Compression Alone or with Mouth-to-Mouth Ventilation
Alfred Hallstrom, Ph.D., Leonard Cobb, M.D., Elise Johnson, B.A., and Michael Copass, M.D.
Of the 1941 patients who met the inclusion criteria, 981 were randomly assigned to receive chest compression alone and 960 to receive chest compression plus rescue breathing. We observed no significant difference between the two groups in the proportion of patients who survived to hospital discharge (12.5% with chest compression alone and 11.0% with chest compression plus rescue breathing, P=0.31) or in the proportion who survived with a favorable neurologic outcome in the two sites that assessed this secondary outcome (14.4% and 11.5%, respectively; P=0.13). Prespecified subgroup analyses showed a trend toward a higher proportion of patients surviving to hospital discharge with chest compression alone as compared with chest compression plus rescue breathing for patients with a cardiac cause of arrest (15.5% vs. 12.3%, P=0.09) and for those with shockable rhythms (31.9% vs. 25.7%, P=0.09).
CONCLUSIONS
Dispatcher instruction consisting of chest compression alone did not increase the survival rate overall, although there was a trend toward better outcomes in key clinical subgroups. The results support a strategy for CPR performed by laypersons that emphasizes chest compression and minimizes the role of rescue breathing. "This article has no abstract; the first 100 words appear below.
The major determinants of survival after witnessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation include whether a bystander initiates cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how quickly defibrillation is accomplished.
The now-classic observations of Eisenberg et al. were that among patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation, 43 percent survived to leave the hospital if CPR was initiated by a bystander within four minutes and if definitive therapy was delivered within eight minutes.1 Survival decreased to less than 7 percent if basic CPR was not initiated until 8 minutes, and no patient survived after 16 minutes of untreated ventricular fibrillation."

I must note, that I do not believe in corporate punishment, and I am not endorsing or opposing this email, but it should make one think! ...about what? About the effect societal messages have on children; they may not always be the proximate cause of murder, suicide etc, but they may well be a cause without which these would not happen in many circumstances, it has also been proven that condom distribution and education in schools, is less effective than abstinence education for the purposes it claims to promote:
"WOW, WHAT A WAKEUP CALL!!
Dear God: Why didn't you save the school children at ?. .. MosesLake,Washington2/2/96 Bethel,Alaska2/19/97 Pearl,Mississippi10/1/97 West Paducah,Kentucky12/1/97 Stamp,Arkansas12/15/97 Jonesboro,Arkansas3/24/98 Edinboro,Pennsylvania4/24/98 Fayetteville,Tennessee5/19/98 Springfield,Oregon5/21/98 Richmond,Virginia6/15/98 Littleton,Colorado4/20/99 Taber,Alberta,Canada5/28/99 Conyers,Georgia5/20/99 Deming,New Mexico11/19/99 Fort Gibson,Oklahoma12/6/99 Santee,California3/ 5/01 El Cajon,California3/22/01
How did this get started?... Let's see,
I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare complained
She didn't want any prayer in our schools.
And we said, OK. ------------------ Then, someone said you better not
Read the Bible in school; The Bible that says 'thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, And love your neighbors as yourself,' And we said, OK...
----------------- Dr. Benjamin Spock said
We shouldn't spank our children
When they misbehaved
Because their little personalities
Would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem.
And we said,
An expert should know what he's talking about
So we won't spank them anymore.. ------------------ Then someone said
Teachers and principals better not
Discipline our children when they misbehave.
And the school administrators said
No faculty member in this school
Better touch a student when they misbehave
Because we don't want any bad publicity,
And we surely don't want to be sued.
And we accepted their reasoning... ------------------ Then someone said,
let's let our daughters have abortions if they want,
And they won't even have to tell their parents.
And we said, that's a grand idea. ------------------ Then some wise school board member said,
Since boys will be boys
And they're going to do it anyway,
let's give our sons all the condoms they want,
So they can have all the fun they desire,
And we won't have to tell their parents they got them at school.
And we said, that's another great idea...
------------------ Then some of our top elected officials said
It doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs.
And we said,
It doesn't matter what anybody, including the President,
Does in private as long as we have jobs and the economy is good.... ------------------ And someone else took that appreciation a step further
And published pictures of nude children
And then stepped further still by
Making them available on the Internet.
And we said, everyone's entitled to free speech.... ------------------ And the entertainment industry said,
let's make TV shows and movies that promote
Profanity, violence and illicit sex...
And let's record music that encourages
Rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes...
And we said,
it's just entertainment
And it has no adverse effect
And nobody takes it seriously anyway,
So go right ahead. ------------------ Now we're asking ourselves
Why our children have no conscience, Why they don't know right from wrong,
And why it doesn't bother them to
Kill strangers, classmates or even themselves.
------------------ Undoubtedly,
If we thought about it long and hard enough,
We could figure it out.
I'm sure it has a great deal to do with... 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW'
------------------
Pass it on
If you think it has merit!
If not then just discard it...
Butifyoudiscard this thought process, Then don't youdaresit back and complain about What bad shape this country is in!!
Why is it our children can not read a Bible in school,
My response was similar, New York seemed closer than Cape Town, Bloemfontein or Pretoria, or Johannesburg for that matter (given that I used to live in Randburg).
From showing her intimacy with her children in the beginning: their crawling into her bed for hugs and protection in the mornings, to her need to protect her children from the horrific news, God Blessed Me With a Saint, our Canadian Correspondent shows her horror over 11/09/2001: 9/11 as the Americans and Canadians call the day:
"Each child at that time would wake up and come down the hall and crawl into my bed. Or sometimes stand on my side of the bed and stare at me till I opened my eyes and seen a child looking at me, I would sense this and just smile scooping them into my arms.
I had taken both boys to school that morning. Both children attended the morning classes at their school, one would have been in Junior Kindergarten and the other Senior Kindergarten, both grades were only half days. They were 4 and 5, I was still in my Thirties :)
I had just come back home from dropping them off at school and started to make a cup of tea, unload my dishwasher when I went to turn off the tv from earlier, yes we left it on while hurrying out the door.
That's when I seen newsflashes all over the tv, it was mind boggling what I was witnessing. At first I thought it might be a commercial for a new movie out. It wasn't and I sat starring at the tv screen.
I was stunned and shocked. I was also very scared. I had never seen such horror or terrorized victims in my life. This was the States, New York City, that's not far from home. A busy financial district that many people I knew attended conferences etc., in those twin towers on a regular basis.
As I watched I just felt sick inside, frightened. I immediately just wanted my kids home with me, I didn't know what was happening in the world and I needed them to be near. I continued to watch for a bit and then decided enough, I needed to go and get them from school and bring them home. I didn't care if I was over-reacting, the strongest emotion inside me was for my boys to be with me at that time. I needed to hold my family close.
The rest of the day was just normal for my children who I shielded and were unfazed by this terrorized monster who had shook the world. They played while I tried to listen to newscasts etc., and understand what was truly happening.
I watched newscast after newscast of the terror of that day and how that vile man and his army scared the hell out of my world. Remember we who live in bubbles always thinking it can't happen in our world. It did and nobody will ever forget it.
God bless those who died that day and God bless their families who survived. Thank you God for always protecting me and mine."

One of my acquaintances is Iranian, and independently I know of Press TV, this video is stolen from the state propaganda/television news station of Iran, which makes it interesting to me. It is certainly the sort of video which spurs up both sides. Iranians for instance, will see the western response to burning the American flag, and the obscenities and will say: yes, but they can burn our Qur'an?
Individual low key low scale American "Koran" burnings did take place according to Russia Today, including one burning on the site of Ground Zero, as I reported yesterday.
Flag burning is quite common in the Muslim world. In South Africa we often have interesting protests between the Muslims and Zionist Jews. Muslims, even dress up for it, and they dislike one another. The burning of the American flag, represents the burning of America, at least to those shouting that America must burn. It also represents a rejection of America.
The protesters rightly point out, that many more civilians, and innocents etc have died from American aggression, and American strategy since 11/09/2001 or as the Americans render it 9/11.
The British Bobbies on the Beat (policemen), are of course protecting the protesters' rights to protest.
I personally find Lady Gagga's new music video more insulting than a bunch of angry men airing their disapproval of Qur'an burnings in a civil and more than proportional manner.
A North American Correspondent of Scripturelink, My favourite read on the blogosphere: writes of this, while linking to it:
"Potentially offensive ...
What is wrong with these people to burn the American flag? "
God Blessed Me With A saint (Catholic pure and simple; Independent of the State; Canadian; My favourite read on the blogosphere)
" Anti-Islam sentiment has been running high in the U.S. on that anniversary of the September 11 attacks. In New York, a man set fire to pages of the Koran just feet away from Ground Zero. Two pastors in the State of Tennessee are also said to have set light to copies of the Muslim holy book. Tension has also flared in New York over plans to build a mosque and Islamic Community Centre just blocks from the site of the World Trade Centre. Around a thousand people gathered near Ground Zero to support the construction, while several hundred demonstrators opposed to it, rallied nearby."
Russia Today (Head-quartered in the Russian Federation; Interesting relationship with Russian State; Secular/General Russian Interests News)
It appears as though there have been only three (3) incidents of Qur'an burnings in the whole of the United States of America, on the anniversary of the World Trade Center terror tactic attacks. It has been warned however, that American nationalist sentiments, ignited since the 11 September 2001 seem to have taken the form of anti-Islamic special interests promotion.
Very few services have mentioned that many who died in the Trade Center, were international citizens.
No, we haven't changed the name- but it now looks much more like the blog it was meant to be, as we have adjusted it since the move to scripturelink.net!
It has been noted by C.S. Lewis that a Liberal in South Africa is a conservative in Great Britain, this still remains true, as Labour more closely mixes with the ANC, than Liberal DA, which could likely run under a conservative banner in Great Britain, or for that matter the United States of America. In Australia, a similar situation is existent, Abbot's Liberals, stand conservative against the Labour government in Australia. A liberal in South America, stands conservative also, as with a Democrat, in stark contrast to the socialistic tendencies of America's Democrats.
I don't necessarily agree with Gerald Warner, or consider Damien Thompson anything near a papist, but the article is interesting precisely because it correctly notes, the huge danger of the one size fits all approach to politics, and the difference between conservatives and traditionalists. But by his definition, every minority party must be liberal., in that they aim to change the status quo, or in the least: traditionalists of one or other grouping.
I certainly could debate quite heatedly with all partakers in such an article including Gerald Warner, but I will leave that to my readers.
P.s. Vatican II was no Catastrophe, but a brilliant work of Orthodoxy, the catastrophe was pastoral and at a later date. If anything Benedict XVI is restoring Vatican II, something he helped to engineer.
In South Africa, conservative has more meaning, as the truly liberal or leftest, are also the most Traditional: or are perceived as that, given the ANC's Africanist, Nationalist tendencies!
Family of woman who died after injury at Lourdes sue tour group
Quick note by Marc Aupiais
HCPT: The Pilgrimage Trust and Disabled Together, is facing legal action after a reportedly (Telegraph) devout Roman Catholic woman in her 60's fell 4 feet, at Lourdes and allegedly broke her left leg three times and her right leg once in the fall. The woman was born with disability: Cerebral Palsy and had never worked in her life, she survived breast cancer and the death of her husband Ian Mitchell, but widowed Patricia Mitchell, died shortly after the ill fated trip according to the UK Telegraph.
According to HCPT, the matter is being dealt with by their insurers currently, and therefore they have decided not to comment yet.
Patricia Mitchell had on several occasions visited Lourdes, in hope of healing.
Editorial advice:
It is always advisable to be accompanied on any Pilgrimage by relatives or close family, especially if something happens, or where one's needs and interests may be in danger, often pilgrims are short changed in what they get, or expected to survive sub standard or not luxurious conditions. Whether it is so that the group HCPT was negligent or not, our service has often uncovered dangerous bad elements in Catholic groups, such as that of corruption, pseudo-Catholicism or inadequate service. It is always important to insure one gets taken care of, and not to select any group or trust a group simply because they offer pilgrimages, or claim to be Catholic, or seem similar in culture to one's own. Most importantly, one must always be accompanied by people who have their best interests at heart when in any vulnerable situation, including when seeking medical treatment. A nurse assessed the deceased before she left to return to Great Britain / The United Kingdom, and said she had sustained no injuries, British Doctors claimed her legs were broken, and feared an urgent need to amputate, though there does not seem to have been any amputation.
"But on Monday, the newspaper reversed itself with an article by the Vatican's top art historian shooting down the claim. Under the front-page headline "A New Caravaggio? Not really", Vatican Museums chief Antonio Paolucci wrote that the work was not of Caravaggio's quality"
- The Independent adds. Really that little paragraph says it all, the title hardly says it all.
L'Osservatore Romano is the Vatican newspaper as much as the Telegraph is the Tory newspaper. It may be sold in the Vatican, but isn't an official Vatican vetted paper, really the editor, has the say, a very controversial man to say the least, who has raised many eyebrows. Official Vatican institutions include Vatican Information Service: a text service which would be there for official announcements to any such art if it were so. ANy credible service looks there for the Vatican's real stances.
The Independent admits that the article itself does not claim it is definitively a new Caravaggio. Perhaps their alleged historic and present day secularist anti-Catholic bias makes them as likely to use a misleading headline as any other paper. As it is, unlike The Catholic Civilization paper, the L'Osservatore Romano, no more represents the Vatican, than the Telegraph represents Great Britain or England! Try again Independent. Actually, don't!
The big problem is it doesn't look for verified accounts, and allows wrong accounts to be linked to a person. So on "Twitter Equalizes the We", more on firsthand, we must say it isn't anywhere near Ideal!
This is hilarious, these leftest losers actually think that there is a valid alternative to oil. And they use the word faucet for tap, how hilarious. PS, it is hosted by JimUFO, need we say more- I bet the aliens are behind the conspiracy behind them poor innocent oil companies which are poisoning every country and took over the media- so that we do use electro-magnetic engines available since the 1960's.
Play the vuvuzela while you listen, will make it more hilarious! What hilarious misfits, the laughter they let us have at their expense. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha b and no, I did not include the little b in some conspiracy theory, except the one to make you think there is a conspiracy theory against you.
Please don't send the link to anyone stupid, we so don't want them running around with tinfoil on their heads. It really is uncooth!
Ok, I'm paraphrasing, but this is shocking and revolting. NASA's role, now that America has decided it doesn't want spaceships any more (in case Mohammed Ali, I mean Mohammed Bin Laden), blows up the space station, is to inspire little kids and them antequated savage Muslims about math (maths if you want to use non-degraded English) and science. He thinks them Muslims need to know that their ancestors contributed to the number system and science, awe! I am not the only one who is deeply insulted by America's ARROGANT, DISGUSTING MISTREATMENT of the REST OF THE WORLD. I have university level Muslim friends, in fact many of South Africa's greatest minds are Muslim. How dare the US president's representative even suggest such copra as to say Muslims need to be REMINDED of THEIR NATIONS' contributions.
Of course, since the hugely mistreated and unstable man who just happened to hold some Islamist ideas, shot up a US fort, after many warnings ignored: the OBAMA ADMINISTRATION has replaced FREEDOM OF RELIGION with FREEDOM OF WORSHIP in their speeches. Is he seriously suggesting there are Islamic and Christian nations? Because I don't see this ending well for American minorities.
""When I became the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator -- he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ... and math and engineering," Bolden said in the interview.
The NASA administrator was in the Middle East last month marking the one-year anniversary since Obama delivered an address to Muslim nations in Cairo. Bolden spoke in June at the American University in Cairo -- in his interview with Al Jazeera, he described space travel as an international collaboration of which Muslim nations must be a part.
"It is a matter of trying to reach out and get the best of all worlds, if you will, and there is much to be gained by drawing in the contributions that are possible from the Muslim (nations)," he said. He held up the International Space Station as a model, praising the contributions there from the Russians and the Chinese.
However, Bolden denied the suggestion that he was on a diplomatic mission -- in a distinctly non-diplomatic role.
"Not at all. It's not a diplomatic anything," he said.
He said the United States is not going to travel beyond low-Earth orbit on its own and that no country is going to make it to Mars without international help.
Bolden has faced criticism this year for overseeing the cancellation of the agency's Constellation program, which was building new rockets and spaceships capable of returning astronauts to the moon. Stressing the importance of international cooperation in future missions, Bolden told Al Jazeera that the moon, Mars and asteroids are still planned destinations for NASA."

Interestingly the major stats they quote relate to the West Bank it seems, not Gaza, the major flash-point.
They seem to suggest that the Obama administration only desires progress on paper, and that there will be a thawing of relations between the US and Israel.
I'm going to have to class this particular video in the Al Jazeera While in Propaganda Bin! Do you agree with that judgement? Or is it brilliant investigative journalism, with wise juxtaposition?
Rather, it shines ever brighter. He is noting the teaching of a saint here, and saints all, we know: shine forever, because shock, awe and friendliness can last a while, but holiness creates an eternal legacy. My personal patron Philomena shows this: in any case, enough of my commentary: ask the pope himself:

Seems not only people with connections to the ANC are let off due to "lack of evidence"!
